Each subject is treated to an historical review and general prospects and procedures. Types of fish or game, equipment and methods, and in the case of the camping section, a ""how-to""--are given extensive, if not indepth attention. The hunting chapter includes a knowledgeable discussion of guns, use and care. Of necessity, there are omissions and too brief treatment of some areas (no brief six pages can do justice to the handling of a canoe; nor can one paragraph instruct one sufficiently in constructing a bake-hole). However, this is a competent introduction to field and stream for the neophyte or the experienced hunter who might like to switch from camping to chumming.
