by LeGrand ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 10, 1946
The author of the popular Augustus series in a new genre, under a different imprint. How the doughnut get its hole is the weighty matter of this light tale. Mr. LeGrand has found the answer to that ever-pussling question at the bottom of the sea (as good a place as any). Cap'n Dow is, presumably, a bit of authentic American folklore which the author has translated into story and pictures-gay ones in green and black. Both yarn and pictures are handled with broad good humor. Board cover. Fair merchandise, for the four and five year olds-and up.
