THE MISSION BELL

Polti needs no introduction, though frankly we do not think this book is as consistently fine as some of its predecessors, But the story of the text is an important one, as he relates the incredible journey of Father Junipero Serra, and its results in the first of their missions. Through the story, the reaching out of spiritual values to embrace the Indians strikes a dominant note.
