This is pedantic prophecy disguised as sci-fi -- the ostensible journal of a future (circa 2500) archaeologist named Jacob Mindyson who himself is translating the secret never-before discovered journal of a Jewish priest Eliezar ben Yaakov ha Kohen, Jesus' genetic father. That tale is more or less shoplifted from von Daniken (Chariot of the Gods) with Mary being impregnated (with Eliezar's sperm) through incarnations of Space Messengers from Elim -- who used to commune with the Jewish holy men via a kind of 3-D TV on the Wailing Wall of the Old Temple until Eliezar broke off communication in the name of freedom -- not wanting future humans to know we are but pawns in the eternal war between the forces of yin and yang, Man and Woman, Light and Darkness. Unfortunately Jake can't pass the message on for the awful ladies mess up his little area of ground via earthquake and the time warp. The future is projected with a particularly dismal lack of imagination -- thousands of tiny nation states engaged in endless petty war, black matriarchies, men as sex objects, with Jake having one of the hugest, most satisfying specimens around. Paranoia, male menopause, and critical acumen do not a novelist make.
