by Leslie Charteris ‧ RELEASE DATE: Dec. 6, 1940
I'm a pushover for the Saint, though Leslie Charteris is inclined to put in too many ingredients as the Saint turns from his Robin Hood activities to international intrigue in Florida waters. There's a kidnapping (adult) -- a mysterious sinking of an oil tanker -- a body washed up with planted evidence -- a too convenient yacht -- a lovely red-headed girl who two-times the Saint and keeps him guessing -- a hideaway submarine base in the Everglades -- and a grand finale in which the Saint comes off victorious, the Nazi Bund gets its deserts, the red head turns out to be British Secret Service -- and the submarine is blown up. Of course, Mr. Uniatz plays his part.
