MOON AHEAD

Up there in the front ranks with Lodestar by Franklyn Branley (Crowell P. 2) is this nerve-shattering science fiction tale of a rocket trip -- this time to the moon. Noel Durand and Sam Halloway are the lucky boys who with their fathers accompany American scientist Clifford Bruno and British scientist Adrian Rumbold in the rocket ship, Shining Rock to the moon. The crew of the Rock are in general better equipped than those on the and the only creatures encountered on the chilly gs of the moon are humans from a rival expedition, but the eery tangles with gravity- and lack of it; the strange moon scenery; the fantastic phenomena of space travel; have a bulging fascination. The sound scientific base gives an air of prophetic realism.
