BRIGHT ISLAND

This is ideal for the girl who is just beginning to want some romance and who hasn't quite graduated to adult books. It is, first of all, a boarding school story, though most of the action takes place during holidays on the island, where the girl heroins feels she ""belongs"". Boarding school aspects are a bit shadowy -- the week end adventures on the water, the vacations on the island, the interrelation of the two girls and the boys and men they are thrown with are excellent. Best of all in the picture of the Island life -- off the coast of Mainc -- and of the home of the girl.
