FRIPSEY SUMMER

A gay sequel to Bright Days (1952,p. 451) in which young Marcy's loneliness was cured with the advent of the Fripsey family who moved in, on masse next door. The main concern of Marcy and the Fripsey kids, whose ages range from four to fifteen, is for Mr. Fripsey's new job. If things go well his boss will appoint him to a recently vacated regional directorship for his firm. But ""mean"" Mr. Tibber's impending visit doesn't prevent them from having fun in the interim. They go camping, explore a forbidding old quarry, etc. Then they're astonished when Mr. Tibber turns out to be friendly Old Hank with whom the youngest Fripsey has been having heart to heart talks on the lawn, and whom she has won over completely.
