by Manuel Komroff ‧ RELEASE DATE: Feb. 1, 1964
A chronology of the events which led up to the battle and an hour by hour listing of the progress of the battle itself precede the author's brief but detailed account of Napoleon's poorly planned attempt to defeat Wellington and Blucher on two fronts. Mr. Komroff's style is vigorous as he sets the scenes and shifts from Blucher's to Wellington's to Napoleon's view of the situation as it develops. Each leader's strategy is clearly outlined; each one's character is etched sharply in context. This is the first volume in the Great Battles Series, and if the succeeding titles equal it in quality, the books will be of supplementary value to history students. Seen without the promised thirty-one paintings and engravings.
