The map of murderland has a new waystation--St. Aurelian's convent-college isolated in the Louisiana bayou country. A fall in enrollment forces Mother Theodore to import three lay--and male--instructors. With them enters multiple murder tied to an old tragedy that involves one of the students. A maverick entry, this should interest those who favor atmosphere and a slowly-unfolding case of deduction over the more usual bang-bang thriller. There's no undue stress on religion and interest should not be limited to Catholic readers.
