Letters from a mother to her daughter in college, dealing with all sorts of problems of everyday life and conduct:- why Susan should not go off on a long trip with two boys and another girl; why Susan should not overstep her allowance even to buy a ""bargain""; why Susan should not plan marriage until the young lawyer she is engaged to has finished his studying; the difficulties she will encounter in standing up for a girl friend who has eloped with another friend's fiance, and so on. Drinking, necking, marriage and a job, going ""dutch"", radicalism, etc. Good stuff, carries the point without being prissy. High ideals -- and the sort of commonsense that goes over. Of interest to both mothers and daughters, and one Vassar freshman who knows ""Susan"" was very enthusiastic about them.
