by Margaret Culkin Banning ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
A new slant on the depression and unemployment, well blended with a love story on the old postponement-of-understanding theme. The third son refuses the easy way up the business ladder, and finds jobless New York is not his oyster, after all, and that love needs more than hope deferred to feed upon. Mrs. Banning's forte is a photographic portrayal of average people, and this theme escapes her grasp and lacks the verisimilitude which is her banner of success. But possibly the riches to poverty, the background of penthouse parties and horse racing may blaze new trails for her in the rental library ranks.
