THE EWE LAMB

The ewe lamb here is beloved as a potential inheritor, not for his unpredictable personality. Niccolo is the dregs of a proud lineage, the Staveling family whose ancestor portraits line the walls of a house now serving as a museum piece. But one guide finds in a painting a secret. . . and is killed in flight. Her cousin, Kate Crawford, comes to take her place and is in turn watched, as a second murder is committed. The ewe lamb. . . a black sheep? A real puzzler, ladyfingered and likable.
