PUMPKIN, GINGER AND SPICE

Three little dachshunds cavort around town and Miss Marvelous' Bake Shop from puppyhood through their first birthdays. Miss Marvelous, a bit of a do gooder but nice, pampers and nurses her dogs who in their own way do inadvertent good turns for others. They help put out a fire, solve a mystery, and one of Spice's first puppies is promised to some neighborhood children. Shenanigans with a touch of make-believe; not the author's best work, but definitely homey.
