The story of Beth Dean, an airline's hostess, begins as she graduates from training school and comes to Oregon for her first position as a Junior hostess with Sky Lanes. And Beth's story makes good career pointers as all the expected things happen to her as she efficiently continues to carry out her duties. Storms, unruly passengers, schedule changes, a better run- all are met and dealt with successfully by Beth who is as shy as the next girl, but Just as determined to do her best. One incident, a stowaway aboard a plane, presents an opening for a romance with Peter who works at a boys' camp. And later, Beth's courage at an accident in an airshow forges the final link in the chain that really convinces her parents, formerly doubtful, of her own self sufficiency.
