by Margaret McLean ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 11, 1988
A do-it-yourself book that uses readily available materials. Neither the drawings nor the text is inspired, but nearly 30 instruments are described with clear, step-by-step diagrams; there are also bits of information about musical history, musical notation, a few simple tunes, and a brief list of terms. The instruments don't look difficult to build, but a couple--the xylophone and recorder--will probably have pitch problems. Good for school projects, groups such as scouts, and rainy day fun.
