by Margaret Millar ‧ RELEASE DATE: Sept. 3, 1970
Beyond this point they don't come any better. . . this is one of Mrs. Millar's veiled inquiries in which nothing is just as it seems, beginning when Devon Osborne asks for the hearing which will declare her husband Robert legally dead. He's been gone for a year and a bloodstained knife in a field, some broken contact lenses, his credit card in the hands of a vagrant, would indicate that he was murdered. But his mother will not concede that easily. . . . All of this takes place in lonesome terrain down near the Mexican border and it is supremely skillful.
