by Marguerite de Angeli ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 20, 1939
One of my favorite book of the season, and next to Henner's Lydia my favorite of Marguerite de Angeli's books. Another Mennonite story, with the setting closer to Philadelphia this time. A story of a very normal boy who was always in hot water, but who was just the right sort of boy at heart. Good background material of the arts and handicrafts developed by these German pioneers in Colonial days. Good factual and regional material.
