by Mariana ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 3, 1949
A twice told tale, but rarely has it been more charmingly told, than in this quaint little story of a forlorn and forgotten doll released from the attic by magic on Christmas Eve, and designated by Santa Claus to fill a gap made in his pack by a lost doll. The Christmas tree angel comes to the rescue, and Miss Flora McFlimsey regains her lost finery. The gorgeous modern dolls are ignored when the children burst in on Christmas morning and she finds herself a favorite once again. Mariana has made lovely water colors and wash drawings for almost every page, and the book is just over stocking book size, and has an appealing somewhat old-fashioned look.
