by Marie Buchanan ‧ RELEASE DATE: July 1, 1975
Irradiated from here to nowhere or rather our primal past, this is another (Anima; An Unofficial Breath) of Marie Buchanan's unclassifiable novels which floats on strange frequencies in Clairol cliche (""The sky went harebell, rose, primrose, silver""). Ostensibly it deals with Sarson, an archaeologist, who discovers an old henge--perhaps greater than Stonehenge--and in the ensuing dig finds himself the subject of queer episodes when he drifts darkly backward to an earlier identity as The Watcher in a world of tribal rituals, furry beasts and forebears called Whergh. Something is to be retrieved: it's a little girl easily mistaken for Mr. Sandman.
