THE 1 - 2 - 3 OF HOMEMAKING

This covers more facets of homemaking than does the excellent America's Housekeeping Book but adds some not included in that estimable volume:- basic operations in food preparation- though no recipes, care of the sick, physical care, training and discipline of young children and the responsibility of parents. The emphasis is placed on efficient organization, on management of cleaning schedules, care of furniture, laundry methods, menu planning and marketing. Some of the detail seems superfluous (but you never can tell about the complete novice). Table setting, service, care and repair of clothing, household emergencies, etc. -- covered with, in most cases, adequate detail. Index-illustrated instructions- time chart for meats-chart of spices-list of further books for each section.
