LET'S FLY TO BERMUDA

From the point of view of content material for second and third graders, this is good. The information about passenger flying (from Chicago to New York, and from New York to Bermuda by clipper) is authentic, and the details that would interest small passengers are clearly given. But even seven and eight year olds today will question the timeliness of a book about flying which completely ignores the present regulations and conditions, which assumes that anyone can go anywhere, see anything, and use Bermuda clippers for vacation travelling. Then Bermuda itself is clearly based on pre-war conditions,now, I'm afraid, changed for good. (For example, with St. David's Island a military base, will its simplicity ever be restored?) However, the book has its value as a general picture -- even if its timing seems wrong.
