READ REVIEW

STREET FAIR

Don't sidetrack this as only a juvenile (personally, I'd advise selling it as an adult book -- see report on page 155, in May 15th issue -- and recommending it for older girls, rather than the reverse process). A boy of thirteen and a girl of 11, resenting the formalities of an educational trip to Paris, manage to escape into some adventures of their own, which lead farther afield than they had planned, and eventually wind up on the Cote d'Azur. Lots of humor and dialogue that is spontaneous and natural. The story is far-fetched but good reading.
