by Marjorie Rawlings ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
For everyone to whom the place and the people and the personality back of The Yearling contributed largely to its charm, this segment of autobiography and place literature will be a delight. It breathes the very air of the Florida she knows, of the sort of people who populate her stories, of the life reflected there. It is as if she had taken you on a personal and intimate tour of her own country, introduced you to the people she knew and loved. Her own house, her own self come less to life than her tenants, her neighbors, her succession of people that work for her. Lots of humor -- swift pen sketches -- incidents that come alive. She knows and loves the country -- and has its beauty at her finger tips.
