A TICKET FOR A SEAMSTITCH

Further in the record book of the N. Y. Mammoths as penned by Henry ""Author"" Wiggen has much of the humor native to the earlier The Southpaw and Rang The Drum Slowly even if this is the most insubstantial installment to date. A fan letter from a seamstitch (a seamstress to us) in the west to Wiggen arouses the hopes of his roomie, Piney Woods, a Georgia boy easily given to wild dreams (naked girls on his motorcycle and a trip to the moon). The seamstitch materializes- overwhelmingly- for the July 4th doubleheader as Wiggen is attempting to break a Hall of Fame record. But she is left in the grandstand alone after the defeat which ends Wiggen's winning streak.... A real screwball pitch- and there should be more than one man to take it right around your home plate.
