A CALL FROM AUSTRIA

A dependable writer once again provides maximum suspense within the bounds of credible situations and alluring backgrounds. Robert Brisson, journalist, had already been exposed to threats because of some pieces he had done on Argentina and certain financial transactions stemming from there. But these take on new significance when a mysterious phone call from Austria, ostensibly from his brother, summons him to Austria. Once there he finds no sign of his brother -- and only with the greatest difficulty discovers any clues to his having been there; an old carelessness turns up in a new guise; and an attack on his person shows that enmity has ridged an ocean. Fast pace, slick plotting and some light on continuing Nazi operations combine to make this first rate adventure reading.
