DEVIN & GOLIATH

This right thinking, unimaginative moral tale describes how Devin employs all his cunning to capture a large turtle he calls Goliath, how Devin's friends come round to see Goliath in his new cage, and how the captive then droops and seems to shrink until Devin knows that he must be returned to the creek he came from. Chartier's literal drawings are just a shade less fiat and ordinary than the text.
