THE FOOTPATH MURDER

You won't mind hanging around the local pubs with Inspector Davis and his sidekick while the inhabitants of Thorntree Commons nurse their pints and their theories as to who would finish off disliked John Bedford with a horseshoe on the footpath. Gentle Mrs. Bedford and her sons, nice James and that horrid little sod Pip, all come under scrutiny by the villagers--from barman to town nitwit, American antiques dealer to a buxom Finnish au pair girl. Since they're all so companionable, including the murderer, you'll be glad that England has outlawed capital punishment. A thin solution, but who cares? Have another.
