by Mary & Conrad Buff ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
In fictionalised fact, the story is told of the giant sequoia trees in general and one particular tree, Wawona, from seed to oldest recorded age of a living thing. Through the ravages of the ages to the present when the giant trees of California have come under the protective custody of the government. The jacket gives the sense of vastness and dignity; the cloth binding carries a stamped circle, showing two wise owls, illustrations throughout, many of them providing background for the text, are uneven in reproduction but give a cumulative impression of the Big Tree. Particular interest for west coast market.
