ELIA GUNNING

An insipid, colorless little tale about a singer named Ella Gunning, born 1917 in Bard City, Ohio. After high school, she goes to work at the Finn Furniture Company for $15.00 a week, and takes singing lessons, at the suggestion of Eddie Bernet at the office, from the teacher Hobart Tharp. There's a neuter romance with Eudie, a neuter romance with Max Tallan, composer -- and Max goes off to Europe. She studies, sings at the Lutheran Church, studies with Madame Collier-Brown, and eventually ends up married to Max and sings one of his compositions. Oh, and has a baby. Not much here in the way of excitement.
