LETTERS OF THE SCATTERED BROTHERHOOD

These letters may be best described as mythical meditations. They were written by a number of different individuals and originally appeared in a religious journal anonymously. They are alike in their emphasis upon the central importance in religion of inner spiritual illumination. The key words are ""peace"", ""quietness"", ""serenity"", ""silence"". Christians committed to the mystic way of life will find themselves on familiar sacred ground. Others will be puzzled by language that often seems obscurantist, and by a philosophy which at times seems to deliberately ignore the hard realities of the world's need and the world's sin.
