Here is an effusively overwritten life story by the wife of John Mills and mother of Hayley who grew up in China amid pirates, pythons and magic gardens, got kicked out of one of England's conservative public schools (the ""Order of the S.A.K."") and spent a hazardous period struggling in the British theater. It's all told in a rush and parts are interesting--she was there at the time of the Japanese riots in Shanghai; survived some close London bombings in World War II and then there's her prolonged romance with Mills, their marriage and the making of child prodigies. At times energetically entertaining but mainly for the woman who has nothing to do today.
