**A better book than last season's Azor, to which it is a sequel -- utterly delightful on all counts. Azor, you will remember, is the little boy who talks with animals, and he still has the unique gift when, on his seventh birthday, he catches a sulky haddock that does not wish to be kept as a pet. He finds a solution in keeping the haddock in a water filled boiler on Cat Island, where he can go to see him. He takes his strange pet out to sea in a rowboat, runs into dense fog, and finally strikes a bargain with the haddock which saves his life. The story is hilariously funny and the pictures by Helen Sewell are exactly right. One of the year's nicest books.
