Ten campus stories of the ever blooming, romantic Dobie whose girls land him in and out of trouble, scholastically and emotionally. One drives him to plagiarism, the second gets him a band that makes the dance a success, #3 learns logic too well, #4's expensive tastes force him to plot a theft, #5 has parents whose rules land him in an unexpected career, #6 and her inability to understand chemistry bring out the midnight oil, #7 wins a radio quiz through his help but remains nameless, #8's uncle has political ambitions and Dobie does NOT help him, #9 and a journalism assignment break open a civic scandal, #10 has a love for a fast buck and when Dobie falls in with her plans, he takes a akunking. Extravagant, cockeyed -- in plots as well as style -- these have a sort of frenzied fun.
