THE FUR PERSON

A feline fable traces the progression of a cat, from the time when he refuses to be a small boy's furpiece to his aged- and fattened- identity as a fur person- he is a cat who is also a person. After roving and rambling as a Cat About Town, he finds two ideal housekeepers (they are of course old maids), is named Tom Jones and as Terrible Tom has a terrible fight which determines him to became a Gentle Cat rather than a Gentleman Cat. And in the contentment of his later years, he articulates his ten commandments.... A specialty on the species, occasional rhymes contribute to this affectionate whimsy for a presumably always affectionate audience.
