by Mercer Mayer ‧ RELEASE DATE: March 18, 1974
What do you do when a kangaroo jumps on your bed, an opossum uses your toothbrush, a llama is wearing your jeans, a raccoon eating your cereal, a moose blocking your doorway, a tiger riding your bike, and a camel drinking your bathtub dry -- and all make rude and imperious demands? The answer each time is the same -- ""throw him out,"" but if they all come back to your bed at the end of the day and you can't throw them out -- ""you let them stay."" As the nonsense has neither the point nor the polish of the Joslin/Sendak What Do You Do, Dear and none of the novelty that even Mayer's own post-Wild Things There's a Nightmare in My Closet could claim in 1968, what you do with this is of little consequence.
