LEGENDS FROM THE END OF TIME

Three brief footnotes to Moorcock's trilogy The Dancers at the End of Time (the first two volumes have already appeared; the third will be published next summer). The present stories deposit a few more bits of time-travel flotsam among the gaudy langueurs and longueurs of Werther de Goethe, Lord Jagged, the Iron Orchid, Lady Charlotina, and the other regulars. The artistic frivolings of these exquisites nudge us toward all sorts of ironic little moral apercus, executed with the discreet cooler-than-thou smirk which seems to have proved irresistible to readers of the first two volumes.
