Mary Carstens was introduced to her audience in Wagon to the Star, when she was an ambitious young person in an orphan asylum, braving the world in a city High School. The series has taken her through college, medical school, and now -- a graduate, she is serving her interneship. One of the best of such series, these have built up an interest in a number of characters, many of whom are brought into this last book, which ends with a wedding at the Orphanage. Good career book material -- vocational slant on some of the discoveries of modern medicine; enough adventure and incident; a good picture of the problems women are up against in medicine, even today, and a bit of romance.
