THE LAST HUNT

A novel of buffalo hunters, of Montana, Indians and rugged living traces the conflict between partners, accidentally thrown together -- their project to slaughter buffalo in virgin land. While Charley's compulsion to kill deepens, Sandy's doubts grow, and the issue is called. They separate, but their paths cross again. A resolution of destinies against a setting of mountains, plains and valleys, filled with the rawness of the country, the men and their humor, and with a bitter knowledge of the waste. Not for tender skinned, may be overloaded, but stirring and effective.
