A SMALL FARM FOR ANDY

Andy Mason is too young to go to school and too old to be safely enclosed in a play pen. In fact he's just at that age when he, and his arsenal of toy guns, represent a real threat to the equilibrium of his suburban household. Of course Andy loves his family, but they just don't understand what it is like to be a little boy. Only Peeker, Andy's make-believe friend, understands. And when Andy is given a real farm of his own, he and Peeker really begin to enjoy themselves. First Andy kills some bears with his toy guns, only they turn out to be possums. And then he catches a make believe elephant which turns out to be real. By this time Andy decides that live animals are better than dead ones and that real elephants are more fun than toy guns. A funny story about a very actual little boy in a not quite actual world.
