by Myra Scovel ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
A medical missionary's wife writes her side of the story of six years spent in India. Myra and Fred Scovel had already served for twenty-one years in China when they were asked to leave their home in Stony Point, New York, to come to Ludhiana in the Punjab. Fred was to serve as Professor of Medicine at the Christian Medical College there -- to help upgrade the professional services and build a new hospital. Myra writes informally of their life -- of their meetings with Indian Christians, leading thought groups; of visiting villages and cities, of other missionaries at work, of family life as they knew it, with the children coming and going. However, even for those wishing to share her experience, the telling does not leave the reader much richer by India. May find a Protestant-Presbyterian market.
