Roberta, not quite seventeen, the motherless daughter of an army Master Sergeant, finds fulfillment in the world of antique dolls. Missing the more conventional comforts of her school chums' lives--the rhythm of an elaborately run household, the security of more than enough clothes--Roberta mistakenly believes that only in such a context can happiness breed. But when she accidentally becomes involved in the romantic pursuit of antique doll collecting, she finds that her's too is a rich heritage and one which allows for infinite growth. Romance, family problems, social adjustment are all neatly folded into this story by the author of My Little Sister, The Hills of Home, etc., as Nancy Hartwell rescues her plot from anonymity by strongly reenforcing it with the antique motif.
