by Nat--Ed. Brandt ‧ RELEASE DATE: Oct. 31, 1983
Again: harmless Q-and-A shorts on a grab bag of--more or less--health matters. ""What's poisonous about a philodendron and some other plants?"" ""Just about everything."" ""What's as important as the ABCs?"" ""Toddler gymnastics""--for exercise and coordination. ""Guess whos looking for a roommate?"" ""The senior citizen who doesn't want or can't afford to live alone"". Like its predecessor, this is based on the ABC-TV program with Hal Linden. Like their predecessors, these entries offer only the briefest advice--any meaningful help would have to be sought from other sources. (There are a few inconsequential updates on previous FYI topics--more on why not to take sleeping pills, for instance). But once again, this is okay for browsing--with a few bits to retain for cocktail chatter: certain ingredients in Chinese food can keep the blood from clotting; vitamin C can cause scurvy ""if you suddenly stop taking it after you've been ingesting large doses for a while""; cellulite ""is just plain flab""; sunlight may affect fertility by changing hormone levels; California and Connecticut car dealers must offer refunds to buyers or replace ""lemons"". . . For idle nibbling.
