by Nels F.A. Ferre ‧ RELEASE DATE: Feb. 5, 1958
Already Dr. Ferre, Professor of Theology at Andover Newton Theological School, has become well known as one of the ablest and creative of New Testament scholars, with such earlier books as Return to Christianity, The Christian Understanding of God, Making Religion Real, and many others. Now he publishes a profound, but at the same time almost lyrical book on Christology which aims to meet the needs of modern man for intellectual integrity and adequacy. In these pages Christ comes to life as the center of history. The author starts with Christ himself as ""egape"", (the New Testament Greek word for the distinctive love that came with Christ) as that which can most fully explain existence, most searchingly tell what is wrong with it, and above all, most fully indicate how all things can be made right. Written chiefly for the nature student, the general reader would probably be discouraged from finishing the book if he is not trained in thinking ""in depth"".
