THE MAKING OF A HERO

The story of one Paul Korchagin, of Ukraine, who absorbs the doctrines of the Soviet and fights and suffers for the Revolution. Detailed recounting of abuses, privations, personal experiences against a background of changing characters and polities -- the other side of the picture more familiar to us in such books as Escape From The Soviets. Whole-hearted support of the Party by one to whom it gave life. One accepts the publisher's statement that it is largely autobiographical, though presented as fiction. Definitely for the market sympathetic to Soviet ideals.
