IT'LL ALL COME OUT IN THE WASH

The story's not the thing here, it's the perky positive attitude that counts: whatever mess the little girl narrator innocently makes, her dad reassures her mum: ""Don't worry, Love, that's how she learns. And it'll all come out in the wash."" As much paint on her person as on the wall? As much juice on the tablecloth as in the glasses? A whole lot of lipstick and rouge and eyeshadow all over her face? ""Don't worry, mum""--as she loads the washing machine, hangs out the clean T-shirt, tablecloth, etc.--""that's how I learn. And it'll all come out in the wash."" The book is nought but a scatty demonstration of the adage, but kids might well--and beneficially--pick up the refrain.
