SHORT CUT TO RED RIVER

Based on history, Connelly's Expedition of 1839 and the attempt to establish a shorter trade route through the Texan wilderness, this tells of Ross Phillips-hired by Connelly- to freight a wagon train through dangerous country, for the sizeable sum which will enable him to wed the wellborn Valeria. Phillips has many obstacles; from without- the informer Mangum; from within, the supercargo- a captive woman; and expectedly from hostile Comanches- but he is equal to them all- and more.... Firm.
