by Noel Streatfeild ‧ RELEASE DATE: N/A
A strait-laced aunt, with ideas above her station, acquired from her association as lady's maid to a duchess, brings up her orphaned nephew and niece to be useless to themselves and others, when they are thrust on the world. They have initiative enough to run away at threat of an orphanage, and find the uncle who is a circus clown. Then -- through a season on the road with the circus -- they take plenty of hard knocks and begin to find themselves. Noel Streatfeild has a faculty for making vocational stories along wholly novel lines.
