by Norman Lewis ‧ RELEASE DATE: Nov. 3, 1949
The author of that most appealing of modern grammars, How To Speak Better English (Crowell-1948), with an excellent vocabulary building self-help book. No matter what your age you can increase your vocabulary, learn how to speak correctly, write correctly, and understand the shades of meaning of those whose vocabulary rivals the best of the writers. Practice tests- a pattern of procedure -- memory test, all combine to make this an excellent book for self improvement in a field where the results bear tangible dividends. Much simpler to use- much closer to the everyday needs, than most of its ilk.
