REPORT FROM BEAU HARBOR

Reduced to its bare essentials as it all too often is, this seems to be the earnest little tale of a marriage gone wrong because the husband decides to vote for Nixon. His wife, a sensitive ecology type, has no other choice but to go out and find herself a lover. Meanwhile our hero's children are all going to pot and jail or Canada, or the local drugstore for contraceptives. (""The Pill is too fattening,"" says the daughter, a sweet little speed freak.) The oldest son is forced to enlist in the Army but promptly deserts when they make him do pushups. The younger son, your typical Berkeley student revolutionary fresh from the 7 o'clock news, is also on probation and so is his girlfriend, a Weatherwoman. Some episodes later, the hero breaks off with his wife because he can't understand why voting for Nixon is any excuse for adultery. It probably isn't.
